At Sneaky Vampire Syndicate (SVS), doing things fair and square has always been our main priority — that’s why we published our randomization code for NFT generation and seeded it with a blockhash from the Ethereum chain. Now, we’re pleased to announce that we’re using Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF) to help select winners in our raffles.

We’ve always been interested in using Chainlink and have been impressed with its suite of trust-minimized services. When the time came to develop our in-house marketplace contract, The Blood Shop, we immediately decided to utilize Chainlink VRF’s verifiable randomness to support the raffle procedure. Chainlink is astoundingly gas-efficient and available on many blockchains, including Polygon, where our utility token lives. These benefits made it an obvious choice to help us run on-demand, fast, and provably fair raffles to reward our community. We are always on the lookout for ways we can make our tech suite more advanced — that’s why we’re also planning to use Chainlink Keepers to help automate our workload in the future.

Sneaky Vampire Syndicate x Chainlink

Provable fairness is important for NFTs in general, and for SVS, it’s been one of the cornerstones of our entire brand. From the outset, we made sure to publish our randomization code for the generative process of our original Vampires, and seeded it with an Ethereum-based blockhash.

From a development perspective, our team’s always been interested in Chainlink and we see it as the best suite of tools to connect contracts with the “real world” that our digital one relies on.

When the time came for us to develop our in-house marketplace contract, the development team was shocked by how much more complicated it was than we originally assumed. Naturally, we knew we needed a source of verifiable randomness to help select raffle winners. Chainlink VRF helps streamline our raffle and determine winners in a tamper-proof manner. Not only does VRF work flawlessly on the backend, but it’s highly gas-efficient to operate on Polygon — the chain our utility token calls home — helping to save our users precious resources. Taking these factors together, Chainlink VRF was the obvious and only solution for helping randomize our raffle. With its unparalleled ability to help run provably fair raffles at such high volume, it just made sense for us to integrate the trust-minimized service.

With Chainlink VRF supporting our raffles with verifiable randomness, our community is excited for the chance to win prizes in the raffle, ranging from PS5s to valuable PC parts, flight vouchers, wine fridges, gaming laptops, Nintendo Switches…all of these and more.

We’re not done yet though. We are constantly on the lookout for ways to further improve our already impressive tech suite and make it even more advanced. With the integration of Chainlink Keepers on the horizon, we look forward to automating even more of our workload so we can focus on innovating.

“We’re excited to integrate Chainlink VRF to help randomize our raffles. Chainlink helps make developers’ lives easier so we can focus on what truly matters — making our products better.” — Topkek, Project Lead
